The Ford Motor Company - IAA Motor Show, Frankfurt

New work for The Ford Motor Company, the world’s 5th largest car maker, for the IAA in Frankfurt, the world’s largest motor show.

I had a wonderful commission to produce the images for Ford’s stand at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt, the world's largest auto show.  The brief was to tell people stories by real Ford experts underlining Ford’s commitment to excellence.  The portraits present a selection of Ford of Germany employees, printed on huge 6 meter tall columns and shown on the the very large LED screen at the motor show.  The scrolling LED screen images would show 4 or 5 frames capturing a moment in time of the employee at their workplace.

We spent three days at Ford's factory in Cologne (Niehl and Merkenich) photographing the eight employees that would be used for the portraits and landscape images.  The visit was fascinating and included shooting inside Ford's top secret design centre, at the head office buildings and also inside the factory on the production line.  We photographed Wolfgang Kopplin (Managing Director of Ford Germany), Christoff Kellerwessel (Global Chief Engineer, Electronics Systems Engineering), Ernst Reim (Chief Designer, Interior Design), Sonja Vandenberk (Chief Designer, Colour and Materials) and other engineers and Ford workers.  

It will get a lot of coverage... considering that almost a million people will be visiting the show.
